Transit time depends on distance: under 500 miles is typically 1–2 days, 500–1,500 miles is 3–5 days, and 2,000+ miles is 7–10 days. Add 1–5 days for carrier assignment, which is faster on dense lanes like Los Angeles to Dallas and slower on rural routes.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Yes. Federal law requires every motor carrier to hold cargo insurance, and we verify each carrier's active policy before dispatch. Coverage ranges from $150,000 on open carriers to $500,000 on enclosed. You pay no deductible on a valid carrier-caused claim, and our contingent policy sits behind the carrier's.

Do I need to be present for pickup and delivery?

Someone 18 or older must be present to sign the bill of lading at both ends. It does not have to be you — a friend, family member, neighbor, dealership employee or property manager can act as your authorized representative.

Can I pack personal items in my car?

Accepted Answer

Carriers may legally transport up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk or below the window line. Items are not covered by cargo insurance, so keep valuables, electronics and documents with you. Overweight loads can trigger DOT fines and additional fees.

Open or enclosed transport — which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Choose open transport for daily drivers, leases and standard vehicles; it is the fastest and most affordable option. Choose enclosed transport for exotic, classic, low-clearance, show or high-value vehicles above roughly $70,000, or when weather exposure is a concern.

When do I pay, and how?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is charged until a carrier is dispatched to your vehicle. At that point a partial payment secures the booking, and the balance is due at delivery by card, ACH, cashier's check, money order or cash. There is no charge to cancel before dispatch.

Question 8

Can you ship an inoperable vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Non-running vehicles ship on carriers equipped with a winch or lift gate for an additional $150–$250. The vehicle must roll, brake and steer. Tell us up front so we dispatch the right equipment the first time.
